Anchor Models has been in business for twelve years building high quality models. Anchor Models fabricates high quality ship models of any type required by clients. All models are built to very high standards using cabinetmaker grade wood glue in building the model. Painted models are built using Basswood for all framing and hull construction. Deck fittings and planking are built with different types of hardwoods (maple, boxwood, Swiss pear, walnut, red Honduras mahogany). Hardwoods are used throughout for natural wood models. Metal parts are machined using brass and blackened with gun bluing where required (e.g. gun barrels, hinges, and hasps). Models can be built with or without sails, with sails furled of blowing in the wind. A hardwood base is supplied with each model fastened with screws to ensure mounting is permanent. All models are signed on the bottom of the keel. Models are shipped in a 1/2" plywood crate using UPS.
Anchor Models builds models for Museums, National Historic sites and private collectors both in Canada and the United States. Models on this web site have been built on commission for specific clients and this is a sample of the types of models that can be built.
